The world contains things. The things mean what they do.
Kiki and Bouba is a roleplaying game for two players and a GM about encountering things you don’t understand.
The GM puts unfamiliar things into concrete situations without deciding beforehand what they are. Kiki arrives at angles. Bouba flows. They act on the world, the world acts back, and meanings accrete through use. A shoom becomes whatever a shoom has proved itself to be.
There is no mystery with a predetermined answer and no story you’re supposed to reach. Maybe Kiki and Bouba discover something about the world. Maybe they discover something about each other. Maybe nothing resolves.
You don’t know what a shoom is. You already know what a shoom is.
